Q&A
Q: Do you have renovations in mind for what you are thinking will create the inviting environment? $317,000 would not be enough to do any major renovations or repairs, it would be more of a refresh; paint, small repairs, maybe some flooring or ceiling changes.
A: Renovations will be for our existing 13,000+ square foot building. We plan on adding solar panels to our buildings and restoring damaged areas after removing and mitigating mold in 4 rooms. Three rooms need new flooring, walls, and ceilings. One room needs new flooring and storage solutions. If there are enough funds we would like to add a bathroom and shower, staff bathroom, parking lot curb, painted parking spots including one for handicap accessible parking.

Top Priorities:
- Solar Installation: Implement solar energy solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce long-term costs.
- Waterproofing: Caulking/sealing basement walls, boiler room, and old office to prevent water damage and mold.
Interior Renovations:
- Flooring & Walls: Install or replace flooring and walls in multiple areas (common room, old office, laundry room, donation room, kitchen, pantry). No carpet.
- Laundry Room: Waterproof walls and flooring and add new drop ceiling tiles. We get a lot of flooding in this area when washers overflow.
- Common Room: Install flooring and replace ceiling tiles as needed. Create a locking storage cabinet for activity supplies.
- Donation Room: Build a pony wall around the furnace, create a boutique area where clients can “shop.” Cover flooring. Create file room. Creating functional spaces for donations.
If there is enough funding available:
- Old Office: Remodel into a bathroom with shower. Add washer and dryer connections if possible. If there isn’t enough funding for this, it will need the walls, ceiling, and flooring restored.
- File Room: Remodel into a bathroom if possible.
- CA Office: Add an escape door to the donation room.
- Phase 2: Add washer and dryer connections if possible.
We also may need the contractor to provide onsite storage space “container” while the donation room is being remodeled so we can access the donations needed. We are open to other solutions that could work as well.
Q: One question for clarification. The RFQ states response deadline by July 18, 2025; however, the advertisement states through July 2, 2025. I just want to ensure that as I update the project details the date reflects accurately. Can you confirm please?
A: Thank you for catching that! The deadline is July 18, 2025.
